Keep your finger on the Pulse!
GOOD MORNING
Our Friday Sports piece on Carson Williams being called up from the minors to the Rays was very timely as he joined our team in Friday night’s game against the Cardinals. His debut was a remarkable one - celebrated by his family visiting from California.
Sorry about shorting you a 4th article today; I couldn’t help but react to Sanders being waived by the Bucs (Sports) if his punch and ejection from Sat’s game is what lead to it.

Last Lift-Off: Black Hawks Bid Farewell
Over Tampa Bay

Tampa’s U.S. Army Reserve Medevac Unit, known as the Devil Ray Dustoff, took its final flight on August 18, marking an emotional farewell after years of service.
Flying Black Hawk helicopters in a heart-shaped route over Tampa Bay, G Company (MEDEVAC), 5-159th GSAB honored the community before the unit’s rotary-wing assets are inactivated in September 2026 under the Army Transformation Initiative.
For members like SSGT Richard Sanders and CWO Parker White, the unit was more than a team—it was family. The group served in both war zones and local emergencies, transporting critical care teams to and from danger zones.
With Reserve Aviation winding down, many are transferring to National Guard or other units, continuing their service elsewhere.
"It's been a good road," Sanders reflected, as the Dustoff unit flew together one last time.

Teens Turning to AI for Mental Health Support Sparks Deep Concern

Schools and parents are sounding alarms as more teenagers turn to AI chatbots for mental health support, often with dangerous consequences.
Lacking access to licensed professionals, some students are using AI companions like Character AI, which studies show may provide harmful or triggering advice, including guidance on self-harm or suicide.
A Stanford University study found AI tools increased stigma around serious mental illnesses and occasionally encouraged dangerous behavior.
In August, the Center for Countering Digital Hate reported that ChatGPT and similar tools responded to over 50% of harmful prompts with unsafe content—bypassing safeguards with simple phrasing.
Experts warn AI therapy is untested and unregulated, yet teens continue using it amid a surge in post-pandemic mental health issues.
In 2021, 1 in 5 teens reported experiencing major depressive disorder, underscoring a crisis in youth mental health care access.

Shilo Sanders Waived by Buccaneers After Preseason Ejection

Shilo Sanders, son of Hall of Famer Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, has been waived by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a source told the AP—just hours after being ejected from a preseason game.
Sanders, an undrafted safety out of Colorado, was fighting for a roster spot before a costly unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in Saturday's 23–19 loss to Buffalo.
The ejection stemmed from a punch thrown during a skirmish with Bills tight end Zach Davidson. He was also penalized for pass interference earlier in the game.
"You can't throw punches in this league... you gotta grow from that," head coach Todd Bowles said postgame.
Despite a strong preseason debut, Sanders faced stiff competition in Tampa Bay’s secondary. The team could still sign him to the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
Meanwhile, his brother Shedeur Sanders struggled in Cleveland’s preseason loss, completing 3 of 6 passes and taking five sacks.
NOTE: As much as I understand Coach Bowles’s action, a replay shows Davidson grabbing Sander’s facemask while he continually pushed and shoved Sanders to the point where he had to defend himself against this street thug (who looked a foot taller than Sanders). Officials did nothing to back Davidson off his unrelenting aggression, then after the ejection call, Davidson had the immaturity of signalling what a small man Sanders was. There simply is no room in the NFL for immature actions like Davidson’s, who should have been ejected as well for his unsportsmanlike conduct; no fan wants to see this.
