Machine Gun Kelly to Rock Tampa This December — Here’s When Tickets Drop

Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) is bringing his high-octane energy to Tampa this winter as part of his massive new tour.

The multi-platinum artist will perform on December 19 at the Benchmark International Arena, a stop on his just-announced “The Lost Americana Tour.” The show supports MGK’s seventh studio album, blending rap, rock, and alt-pop, and promises the same larger-than-life stage presence fans have come to expect.

Tickets go on sale at noon on Sept. 25 via Ticketmaster, but Citi cardmembers get early access with a presale running noon Monday through 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Joining him on tour is alt-pop newcomer Julia Wolf. The tour spans North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, making it MGK’s largest global tour to date.

Known for hits like “Wild Boy” and “Bad Things,” MGK boasts over 20.6 billion streams and millions of albums sold worldwide.

Downtown Tampa’s Next Landmark: A $20M Observation Wheel

A 250-foot observation wheel, dubbed "Wheel Over Water," is set to become Tampa’s newest downtown landmark.

Planned for the Channel District, just north of The Florida Aquarium, the attraction will feature climate-controlled gondolas and provide 20–30 minute rides with panoramic views of the city and waterfront. The $20 million project is privately funded, meaning no taxpayer dollars will be used.

Developer Tony Miller says the wheel will help energize downtown Tampa by connecting key attractions like Amalie Arena, Water Street, and The Aquarium, and will include food, drinks, and luggage storage at the base—especially helpful for cruise passengers.

Miller emphasized the wheel is meant to enhance existing downtown experiences, not just draw tourists.

Visit Tampa Bay’s CEO Santiago Corrada believes it adds to Tampa’s growing reputation, joining the expanded Riverwalk, arts venues, and museums.

Tampa City Council will vote on the proposal at two October hearings, with an opening expected fall 2026.

Swamp Sounds and Surreal Scenes: New FMoPA Exhibit Dazzles

A new exhibit at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts invites visitors to experience Tampa Bay’s swamps like never before.

Chris Leventis, a Tarpon Springs-based interdisciplinary artist, presents “963 Hz: The Interstitial Moment Between Image and Sound,” a multimedia journey through local wetlands, including Hillsborough River State Park. Combining photography, ethereal music, and field recordings, the exhibit creates an immersive world that feels both dreamlike and grounded in Florida’s natural beauty.

Leventis says his inspiration came after unexpectedly wandering into a swamp four years ago and feeling instantly at peace.

Formerly a fashion photographer, he now uses his lens and soundscapes to explore the energy and serenity of natural spaces.

Running through October 28, the exhibit also includes live talks and concerts by the artist, offering deeper insight into his creative process.

It’s a unique blend of Zen, art, and environment—right in the heart of Ybor City.

Ice Under the Sun: NHL's Bold Outdoor Game
Heads to Tampa

The NHL is bringing outdoor hockey to Florida for the first time, with the Tampa Bay Lightning set to host the Boston Bruins at Raymond James Stadium on February 1, 2026.

To beat the Florida heat, the league is building a massive climate-controlled tent over the rink. The structure, 34 feet high and nearly 250 feet long, maintains a 60-degree interior with a precise 38-degree dew point—crucial for quality ice. This will be the NHL’s first outdoor game played under a tent.

Crews will spray thin mist layers overnight to build the ice and use insulated covers during the day. The tent takes three days to set up but just six hours to remove.

This isn’t Florida’s only outdoor game—the Panthers host the Rangers at Miami’s loanDepot Park on January 2nd. With strong Lightning fan support seen in Nashville, Tampa's historic game is expected to draw a huge crowd..
