Global Choreography Star Jennifer Archibald Joins USF Dance Faculty

Jennifer Archibald, one of the world’s most groundbreaking choreographers, has joined the faculty at USF’s School of Dance and Theater in Tampa. A recent Dance Magazine cover star, Archibald is known for her genre-blending choreography that fuses hip-hop, ballet, and contemporary dance.

She brings decades of international acclaim and experience, including work with major dance companies, fashion brands like Nike and Tommy Hilfiger, and even K-pop concerts. Her long-standing ties to USF and Florida’s dance community made Tampa a natural home base.

Her piece “Mirrors” will debut during USF’s Reflecting Fall Dance Concert, Oct. 23–26, alongside works by other faculty and guest artists.

Archibald also plans to use her USF time to develop new commissioned works and train students who can meet her wide-ranging creative demands.

Her move positions Tampa Bay as a rising center of innovative dance—with the global dance community now watching USF more closely than ever.

Bojangles Is Back: Lutz Location Leads Tampa Bay Comeback

Bojangles is officially making a comeback to Tampa Bay, with a new location set to open in Lutz by the end of 2025, located at 18626 State Road 54. This follows a Pinellas Park restaurant opening in November at 7930 US Highway 19 N.

The fast-food favorite—known for its crispy fried chicken, flaky biscuits, and sweet iced tea—hasn’t had a Tampa Bay presence since the 1980s. The brand, founded in Charlotte, NC in 1977, has since built a devoted Southern fanbase.

According to Bojangles VP Brooks Speirs, the company is seeking local franchise partners to help bring its signature “It’s Bo Time!” experience across Florida.

Tampa-area fans can expect favorites like breakfast biscuit sandwiches, Bo’s Chicken Sandwich, and seasoned fries.

Opening day details for the Lutz location are still pending, but anticipation is already building among longtime fans.

Rush Adds More Stops to 2026 Tour – Here's How to Get Tickets

Rush has added 17 new arena dates to its “Fifty Something” 2026 North American tour, now totaling 40 shows. The expansion follows massive sellouts in cities like New York, L.A., and Toronto. Notably for Florida fans, Rush will perform in Tampa on November 9 at the Benchmark International Arena.

This marks Rush’s first tour since 2015 and their first without legendary drummer Neil Peart, who passed in 2020. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will be joined by Anika Nilles on drums, with Peart’s family’s blessing.

Tampa fans can register for the artist presale through Oct. 23 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The presale opens Oct. 27, with general tickets available Oct. 31 at 12 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Tickets may also be purchased via Vivid Seats, SeatGeek, or StubHub.

Tampa Bay Mourns Passing of Former Bucs Star Doug Martin at 36

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has died at the age of 36, the team confirmed Saturday. A fan favorite and franchise standout, Martin played six seasons with the Bucs and was twice named to the Pro Bowl—in 2012 and again in 2015, when he also earned first-team All-Pro honors.

Nicknamed the “Muscle Hamster,” Martin electrified fans with his explosive running style and was a cornerstone of the Bucs' offense during his tenure. His record-setting rookie season in 2012 cemented his status as one of the most dynamic backs in the NFL.

The Buccaneers released a heartfelt statement, calling Martin’s passing "sudden and unexpected," and remembered him as one of the organization’s Top 50 players of all time.

The cause of death has not been made public.

Tributes have poured in from across the league, with fans and former teammates honoring Martin’s impact on the field and in the community.
