Keep your finger on the Pulse!

GOOD MORNING

MOSI is definitely worth the visit as they are working hard to return to their greatness before the ravages of Covid hurt attendance. Enjoyed Leonardo da Vinci’s Machines in Motion.

Walking on Water

Don’t miss the food truck there during lunch on weekends. The brisket melt will deserve a repeat taste - delicious.

Doechii Doubles Down: Tampa Star Wins
Another Grammy

Doechii, Tampa’s rising star and self-proclaimed “Swamp Princess,” just earned her second Grammy Award, this time for Best Music Video for her viral single “Anxiety.”

Though the award wasn't presented during the televised ceremony, her video producers—Pablo Feldman, Jolene Mendes, and Sophia Sabella—accepted on her behalf, thanking the 200-person team behind the production.

This comes just a year after Doechii’s first Grammy win for Best Rap Album (“Alligator Bites Never Heal”). "Anxiety," now with over 62 million views, also earned four additional nominations, including Record and Song of the Year.

Before fame, she performed in Ybor City bars and attended Blake High School in Hillsborough County. Her former teacher Carmen Griffin praised her as a born storyteller whose authenticity continues to move audiences worldwide.

Doechii’s rise is just beginning.

From Vegas to Tampa: WWE’s Backlash Makes Impact Move

WWE’s Backlash Premium Live Event is officially headed to Tampa, bringing post-WrestleMania fireworks to the Benchmark International Arena on May 9.

Announced by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, Backlash will be the first major event following WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, known for continuing storylines and resolving blockbuster feuds.

Presale tickets go live on February 19 at 10 a.m. with the code “WWETIX”, while general ticket sales begin February 20 at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster.

Tampa Bay has become a frequent WWE stop—Tropicana Field hosted the 2024 Royal Rumble, which delivered a $47 million economic boost to nearby St. Petersburg.

With WWE’s growing Florida fanbase, Backlash is poised to pack the house and spotlight Tampa once again on the wrestling world’s stage.

MOSI Rebrands as Museum of Science and Innovation

griffinmsi - Learning Labs

MOSI has a new name — and a new mission. Formerly the Museum of Science and Industry, the Tampa institution is now the Museum of Science and Innovation, reflecting its shift toward future-focused science and tech education.

CEO John Grayson Smith unveiled the rebrand through a dramatic chemical demo dissolving “industry” to reveal “innovation.” Under his leadership, MOSI has already reopened the Saunders Planetarium and added 30,000 square feet of classroom space, expanding daily capacity from 300 to 1,200 students.

The new Digital Content Lab, backed by Bloomberg Philanthropies, allows students to create immersive digital experiences — even 360° videos for the planetarium.

MOSI has also partnered with USF and continues developing its Maker Space for hands-on learning.

More upgrades are coming, including a state-of-the-art experience in 2027. The reinvention is working — attendance is already up 35%.

Innovation isn’t just in the name. It’s everywhere inside.

Pucks, Pirates, and Power Plays: A Night to Remember

Goalie Fight?!

The 2026 NHL Stadium Series at Raymond James Stadium was nothing short of legendary. With 64,617 fans packed in, the Tampa Bay Lightning erased a 5-1 deficit to beat the Boston Bruins 6-5 in a shootout, in what may be the wildest outdoor NHL game ever played.

Tampa scored 11 seconds in—the fastest goal in outdoor game history—before Boston rattled off five straight. But after a rare goalie fight ignited the home team, the Lightning roared back with four unanswered goals, tying the game off a 5-on-3 power play blitz.

The event was the culmination of an eight-year dream: an outdoor game in Florida's winter warmth. At 41.8°F, the ice had to be warmed—a surreal twist.

From Tim McGraw to Gasparilla-themed flair, it was both a spectacle and a showdown between two of the NHL's hottest teams.

“One you’ll remember for the rest of your life.”
