Why Burned-Out Professionals Are Turning to CBD

Long hours, heavy workloads and frustrating coworkers: job burnout is on the rise. Savvy professionals are turning to CBD and its sister compound, CBG, to manage work stress and burnout without losing focus.

Like CBD, CBG is a non-intoxicating compound found naturally in the hemp plant that is known for helping to manage mild/temporary anxiety. And these benefits are backed by science: participants in a 2022 CBDistillery study who took CBD + CBG reported:

  • Reduced mild or temporary anxiety and tension

  • Increased focus and mental clarity

  • That CBD + CBG was more effective than other treatments they tried in the past

When it comes to quality CBD products, CBDistillery is leading the way. Non-GMO, US-grown hemp, 100% clean ingredients, and a 60-day satisfaction guarantee give you one less thing to stress about.

Live Nation’s Ybor Venue Plan Sparks Backlash from Local Music Scene

Live Nation has announced plans to build a 4,300-capacity music venue in Ybor City’s developing Gasworx District, with a projected opening in 2028.

The venue, designed to reflect Ybor’s historic aesthetic, will feature a brick façade, vintage marquee, and balcony-inspired architecture. Developers claim it could generate 440 jobs and an $80 million economic impact, though no supporting data was provided.

The announcement has drawn sharp criticism from local music leaders. Crowbar owner Tom DeGeorge called the project “the ultimate slap in the face,” as his longtime venue faces closure this July due to rising rents.

The new space would fill a mid-sized gap in Tampa’s venue market, larger than clubs like The Ritz but smaller than major arenas.

The proposal comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Live Nation over controversial business practices, intensifying concerns among independent venue advocates.

Historic Don CeSar Becomes Star of Upcoming Feature Film

The iconic Don CeSar hotel is stepping into the spotlight as the filming location for The Statement, directed by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy.

Based on “Losing Earth” by Nathaniel Rich, the film explores a pivotal 1980 meeting of scientists, activists, and policymakers addressing climate change. The star-studded cast includes Paul Rudd, Evan Peters, Amy Ryan, and John Turturro.

Local impact is already evident, with extras and crew members being recruited from the community. Participants will be styled in 1980s-era costumes, offering residents a unique opportunity to join a major production.

Economic benefits are also expected, as cast and crew stay locally, boosting tourism and business. Officials say the film could further elevate the region’s profile through “film tourism.”

Production begins this week, with the movie potentially releasing by the end of the year.

St. Petersburg Chosen for Exclusive U.S.
Cliff Diving Event

St. Petersburg will host the only U.S. stop of the 2026 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series on June 5–6 at the St. Pete Pier, marking the event’s first-ever appearance in Florida.

Elite divers from around the world will compete from custom-built platforms reaching 70 feet for women and nearly 90 feet for men, performing some of the most complex dives in the sport.

Organizers selected St. Pete for its scenic waterfront and accessibility, allowing spectators to watch from the pier, nearby parks, or even boats. Officials say the event highlights the region’s growing global profile as a tourism destination.

The free event is expected to draw around 50,000 spectators, delivering a significant economic boost to local businesses.

Additional event details and attractions are expected to be announced ahead of the June competition.

AI Health Searches Surge, But Confidence Lags Behind

A new survey from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners reveals that while more than 80% of Americans search online for health information, trust in those sources remains low.

Only 11% say it’s easy to verify accuracy, and just 12% feel very confident in online health information. Confidence drops sharply with AI tools, with only 5% expressing strong trust in AI-generated answers.

More than half of respondents (51%) say they lack enough reliable information to make informed healthcare decisions, highlighting a growing gap between access and understanding.

In contrast, 57% report high confidence in healthcare providers, emphasizing the continued importance of professional guidance. Nurse practitioners, in particular, play a key role in helping patients interpret complex information and make informed choices.

The findings underscore the need for trusted medical expertise as digital health resources continue to expand.
