Red Flag Warning Raises Fire Risk Across Tampa Bay

A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Tuesday across much of the Tampa Bay region, signaling elevated wildfire danger due to dry vegetation, low humidity, and gusty winds. Counties affected include Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota, Sumter, Highlands, and DeSoto.

Fire officials say conditions allow fires to ignite easily and spread rapidly, with Pasco County crews responding to near-daily brush fires in recent weeks. Authorities emphasize that many of these fires are preventable, often linked to human activity such as unauthorized burning.

Residents are urged to avoid activities that could create sparks, including outdoor burning, welding, grinding, or parking on dry grass. Officials also recommend clearing dead leaves, pine needles, and debris around homes to reduce fire risk.

Even in areas without active burn bans, experts warn that current conditions remain highly dangerous and require extra caution.

Severe Stomach Virus Spreading Across Florida: What Parents Should Know

Health officials warn that rotavirus cases are rising across Florida and nationwide, posing the greatest risk to infants and toddlers. The highly contagious virus causes severe vomiting, watery diarrhea, and fever, often leading to dangerous dehydration that may require hospitalization.

Recent data shows increasing positivity rates, with the South reporting nearly 8% of tests positive in mid-April. Experts say rotavirus spreads easily through contaminated hands, surfaces, food, or water, making it especially common among young children.

There is no specific treatment, so care focuses on preventing dehydration with fluids. However, frequent vomiting can make this difficult, sometimes requiring IV treatment.

Health professionals emphasize that vaccination remains the most effective protection, though rates have declined in recent years. Parents are urged to practice thorough hygiene, disinfect surfaces, and seek medical care if signs of severe dehydration—such as lethargy or reduced urination—develop.

Saddlebrook Unveils Lively GOAT Kitchen
& Bar Concept

GOAT Kitchen & Bar has officially opened at Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, introducing a sports-inspired American tavern as part of the property’s $92 million renovation.

Designed as a lively clubhouse-style gathering space, the restaurant features a wraparound bar, multiple lounges, and oversized TVs, creating a game-day atmosphere for guests, members, and locals. The concept reflects Saddlebrook’s deep roots in golf and tennis culture, with themed spaces and a hall of fame honoring past athletes.

The menu highlights elevated comfort food, including short rib nachos, a signature smash burger, and Florida grouper, alongside craft cocktails, whiskey, and local beers. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the venue caters to casual dining, celebrations, and watch parties.

With flexible seating for groups and walk-in availability, GOAT Kitchen & Bar rounds out Saddlebrook’s updated dining lineup and reinforces its focus on social, sport-driven experiences.

Tropicana Field’s SkyDeck Might Be Sports’ Best Bargain

The Tampa Bay Rays are drawing attention with their $49 all-inclusive SkyDeck experience, offering one of the best values in professional sports. Located in left field at Tropicana Field, the package includes unlimited ballpark favorites like hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, and pulled chicken sandwiches, along with beer, wine, soft drinks, and water.

The deal stands out in an era where single beers can cost $12–$15, meaning fans can quickly match the ticket value in refreshments alone. Compared to premium experiences in the NFL, NBA, and NHL, which often exceed $100, the Rays’ offering is notably affordable.

The SkyDeck also provides a flexible, social atmosphere, ideal for groups, celebrations, or casual outings. As Tropicana Field reopens following extensive repairs, the Rays are delivering not just baseball, but a fan-friendly experience that blends affordability with atmosphere.
