Tampa Bay Restaurant Month Expands to 30-Day Food Celebration for 20th Anniversary

Food lovers across the region can enjoy a monthlong culinary celebration as Creative Loafing’s Tampa Bay Restaurant Month officially returns for its 20th anniversary.
Running from June 1 through June 30, the annual event expands beyond its traditional one-week format, giving diners an entire month to explore special menus and exclusive promotions at participating restaurants throughout Tampa Bay.
More than 80 local restaurants are taking part this year, offering multi-course prix-fixe meals, specialty cocktails, and limited-time dining experiences designed to showcase the area’s growing food scene.
Organizers say the expanded event highlights the diversity of Tampa Bay dining while also supporting a meaningful local cause. A portion of proceeds from participating restaurants will benefit Feeding Tampa Bay, helping provide meals and support for families facing food insecurity across the region.
The full list of participating restaurants and specials is available through Creative Loafing’s event guide.

Tampa’s ‘Pints of Science’ Mixes Expert Talks, Beer and Big Ideas Near USF

A unique Tampa event series is proving that science and socializing can be a perfect match.
Held monthly at New World Tampa near USF, “Pints of Science” combines short expert-led talks, beer, and casual conversation in a lively indoor-outdoor setting that feels part biergarten, part classroom.
The concept was created by Nancy Bird, a retired nurse and owner of the quirky community hub, who believes learning should be fun, accessible, and community-driven. The events feature local experts giving engaging 20-minute presentations on topics ranging from wildlife conservation and psychology to politics, music, and space technology.
The next gathering takes place June 10, with speakers from USF, the University of Tampa, and Eckerd College discussing topics including social media’s impact on relationships, West African elephants, and satellites in space.
Tickets are $8, making the monthly event an affordable night out for curious minds across Tampa Bay.

Bulls Fans Get New Glimpse of USF Stadium Scheduled to Open in 2027

The University of South Florida has released a new video rendering offering fans an updated look at its highly anticipated on-campus football stadium, a project expected to transform the university’s athletic future.
The latest preview showcases several major features planned for the stadium, including a rooftop viewing deck, more than 2,000 premium club seats, and an expansive student section designed to create a high-energy game-day atmosphere.
University leaders have promoted the stadium as a major step forward for the football program and campus culture, bringing Bulls football closer to student life while creating a modern venue for fans and alumni.
The project has become one of the most closely watched developments in Tampa Bay college sports, with excitement building as construction progresses.
USF officials say the stadium remains on track to open in fall 2027, giving Bulls fans a new home venue located directly on campus for the first time in school history.
Should the Rays Make a Big Move at the MLB Trade Deadline?

The Tampa Bay Rays remain one of baseball’s biggest surprises this season, but recent struggles are already sparking debate about what the team should do before the MLB trade deadline.
Despite ranking among the league’s best in starting pitching and run production, concerns are growing about the long-term durability of Tampa Bay’s rotation. Several starters, including Shane McClanahan and Drew Rasmussen, are returning from significant injury histories, raising questions about workload limits later in the season.
That has fueled speculation the Rays could pursue another frontline starter before the deadline. Big-name possibilities include Tarik Skubal, Sandy Alcantara, Robbie Ray, Michael Wacha, and former Rays prospect Joe Ryan, who was traded to Minnesota in 2021.
While Tampa Bay’s bullpen has shown inconsistency, analysts believe reinforcing the rotation may give the Rays their best chance to remain serious postseason contenders later this year.
