I'm 63 With $1.5M. Can I Spend $10K a Month?
You’ve saved $1.5 million. Now comes the real test.
Can it produce $10,000 a month, or will that pace drain your portfolio?
Most retirees do not get a clear answer until it is too late.
The issue is not just how much you have. It is whether your portfolio was built to pay you, not just grow.
That difference can determine whether your money lasts decades or starts breaking down early.
Sequence of returns, taxes on withdrawals, healthcare costs, and whether the 4% rule still applies all play a role.
Fiduciary advisors created a breakdown showing what drives sustainable income and why the same $1.5M can produce very different outcomes.
If you have $1M or more invested, do not guess.

$1.5 Billion Airside D Could Turn Tampa Into a Major International Gateway

Tampa International Airport is building a $1.528 billion Airside D that could dramatically expand Tampa Bay’s access to international destinations. The 600,000-square-foot facility will feature 16 gates, international customs facilities and capacity to help TPA serve 35 million passengers annually by 2037. It is scheduled to open in 2029.
Delta Air Lines has signed a 20-year lease for at least six gates and plans its first purpose-built Delta Sky Club at TPA. The airline currently operates about 45 daily departures from Tampa, including year-round nonstop service to Amsterdam.
The expansion could address a striking local travel trend: about half of Tampa’s international passengers currently use other Florida airports, primarily Miami, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale. Airside D’s new international processing capacity could eventually make additional nonstop European routes practical from Tampa.
12,000 Drivers a Day to Benefit From New Tampa Boulevard Makeover

After years of requests from residents and local leaders, resurfacing is underway on a 1.8-mile stretch of New Tampa Boulevard through West Meadows, bringing a long-awaited improvement to one of the community’s heavily traveled roads.
The roadway carries about 12,000 vehicles each day, prompting crews to perform much of the resurfacing work at night to reduce traffic disruptions. The project will add approximately 3.5 lane miles of newly resurfaced pavement to Tampa’s ongoing street improvement program.
Mayor Jane Castor said Tampa resurfaced more than 80 lane miles last year, a city record, while more than 330 lane miles have been completed since 2019. District 7 Councilman Luis Viera had made the deteriorating roadway one of his priorities.
For West Meadows residents who advocated for the work for years, the project represents a highly visible investment in safer roads and improved mobility in New Tampa.

Concrete Reef Balls Help Revive Manatee River’s Lost Oyster Habitat

A section of the Manatee River once described as an “underwater desert” is showing signs of new life after more than 300 concrete reef balls were installed to restore oyster habitat and improve water quality.
The Palmetto Bay Oyster Restoration Project, launched in 2023, covers 23 acres along the river, once known as the “Oyster River” because of its abundant oyster banks. Overharvesting, pollution and environmental changes contributed to their decline.
The dome-shaped reef balls provide hard surfaces where oysters, barnacles, sponges and other organisms can establish colonies, while openings create shelter for fish and other marine life.
Researchers are already seeing clearer water near some reef clusters and young oysters, called spat, spreading into surrounding areas. Because oysters naturally filter water as they feed, expanding colonies could further improve river conditions.
Scientists will continue monitoring oyster reproduction, water clarity and marine life as the ecosystem develops.

After Last Year’s Collapse, Mayfield Sees a Very Different Buccaneers Team

Despite contract distractions and low expectations from national observers, Baker Mayfield believes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are poised to surprise the NFL in 2026.
“I think we’re gonna shock a lot of people this year,” Mayfield said, predicting many analysts will pick Tampa Bay to finish with a losing record. The Bucs have something to prove after starting last season 6-2 before losing seven of their final nine games and missing the playoffs.
Tampa Bay enters this season with a revamped offensive staff led by coordinator Zac Robinson and several newcomers expected to contribute, including Rueben Bain Jr., Alex Anzalone and Kenny Gainwell.
Mayfield is also working closely with new quarterbacks coach Chandler Whitmer, with an emphasis on improving his footwork and timing. After injuries contributed to his second-half struggles last season, Mayfield is embracing hard coaching as he attempts to lead a Buccaneers resurgence.
