Major Drug Bust at Tampa Airport: 60kg of Meth Seized from Two Men

In a major drug bust at Tampa International Airport, Hernan Cruz-Moreno, 24, from Earlimart, California, and Agustin Ortiz-Sanchez, 22, from Thermal, California, were apprehended for smuggling 60 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The duo, who flew in from Los Angeles with the drugs concealed in four suitcases, were caught thanks to the coordinated efforts of Homeland Security agents and airport police, assisted by a narcotics detection dog.
Cruz-Moreno, who admitted to being paid $2,000 for the job but claimed ignorance about the suitcase contents, has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute and possess methamphetamine and faces 10 years to life in prison. Ortiz-Sanchez had earlier pleaded guilty to the same charges, with his sentencing scheduled for February 27.
The case, a result of a joint investigation by Homeland Security Investigations and the Tampa International Airport Police Department, highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the United States.

USF Women's Golf: Rising to New Heights in National Rankings

The USF women's golf team is making significant strides towards national recognition, building on their impressive fall season results. They achieved top-four finishes in several tournaments, including a victory at the Badger Invitational in Wisconsin, earning them a No. 33 national ranking. Coach Erika Brennan emphasizes the importance of focusing on controllable aspects of the game rather than the pressure of winning. This approach has led to the team's consistent performance and a first NCAA Regional bid in 11 years.
Senior Melanie Green, ranked No. 24 in the nation, showcased her talent with two runner-up finishes and consistently under-par rounds. Freshman Emma Falcher and veteran Leonor Medeiros also contributed significantly with top-10 finishes. Alyssa Montgomery, a graduate transfer, added depth and experience to the team.
The players' commitment and love for the sport, combined with the positive team dynamics, have set a solid foundation for future successes.
