Tampa Talent Troy Meyer Aims for Victory in Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions

Tampa's own Troy Meyer is in the heat of the competition in the 2024 "Jeopardy!" Tournament of Champions finals. Meyer, a music executive from Tampa, is vying for the champion's title against two formidable opponents: a philosophy professor and a psychologist.

Having outsmarted 24 other "Jeopardy!" champions, he's now in a tight race, with the victory condition being the first contestant to clinch three wins.

Meyer's journey on "Jeopardy!" is not just about the game; it intertwines with his personal life, marking significant milestones, including a romantic chapter with his wife, whom he met through their shared love for the show.

This contest holds sentimental value too, as he dedicates his performance to his late mother, fulfilling her dream posthumously.

USF's Abdur-Rahim Dominates Awards Season: A Finalist for Top

Coaching Honors

Amir Abdur-Rahim, the head coach who led the University of South Florida (USF) Bulls to an exceptional season, is now a finalist for both the Jim Phelan and Ben Jobe National Coach of the Year awards.

His strategic prowess has brought the Bulls their first-ever regular season conference title, achieving a remarkable 23-6 record. This significant turnaround from the previous season places USF at the forefront of college basketball's most improved teams.

Not only did the Bulls secure their first top 25 ranking, but they also boasted the nation’s longest winning streak at one point.
