EPCOT's International Food & Wine Festival Returns to Pre-Pandemic Schedule

Disney World has announced the dates for the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, scheduled from August 29 to November 23. Returning to its traditional timing, the festival promises an assortment of culinary delights from around the globe. Highlights include Belgian Waffles at the Belgium Global Marketplace, Apple Strudel at The Alps, and Passionfruit Cheesecake at the Hawai’i Marketplace. The festival also sees the return of Emile’s Fromage Montage, offering a variety of unique cheeses.
This year, visitors can look forward to new themed merchandise featuring characters like Figment, Remy from "Ratatouille," and Mickey Mouse, with items ranging from kitchen supplies to CORKCICLE drinkware. Additionally, the newly opening CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration will introduce fresh festival elements.
The Eat to the Beat Concert Series, sponsored by Florida Blue, will offer nightly performances, though the lineup is yet to be announced. Dining packages will be available. For a fun, interactive experience, guests can partake in Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt, purchasing maps to locate the hidden character throughout the World Showcase.
Step into History: Tampa’s Cuesta Cigar Heiress' Mansion Listed for $6.1M
The historic "Vista Del Lago" mansion in South Tampa, once home to Cuesta Cigar heiress Carlotta Cuesta, is now listed for sale.
Built in 1925, this Spanish Mediterranean-style estate at 5020 S Shore Crest Cir. is renowned for its opulent past and luxurious design. The mansion's fame escalated when Carlotta married Arnold S. Kirkeby, a prominent hotel tycoon, in 1928. The couple were celebrated for their grand parties at the property, although they soon relocated to Beverly Hills, purchasing the well-known Chartwell Mansion.
After changing hands multiple times, including ownership by Welburn Guernsey, an innovator in mobile home design, the mansion remains a symbol of affluence and history.
Today, Vista Del Lago features six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and spans 7,545 square feet. Key highlights include a Marie Theresa chandelier, decorative ceilings, multiple fireplaces, and a 65-foot lap pool with a distinctive three-story diving tower. Currently, the property is on the market for $6,125,000, represented by Jeannie Wolfe of Smith & Associates, who describes it as a blend of "historical charm and contemporary amenities."

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with Delicious Mexican-Style Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

recipe pics look absolutely delicious
As Cinco de Mayo approaches, many are exploring festive recipes to celebrate the occasion, and Mexican-style stuffed sweet potatoes are a standout choice. This delightful dish masterfully combines the natural sweetness of sweet potatoes with the robust flavors typical of Mexican cuisine, creating a harmonious blend that’s both comforting and exciting.
The preparation is straightforward and involves roasting the sweet potatoes until they are perfectly tender. Once roasted, the potatoes are halved and the flesh is lightly mashed to make room for the flavorful filling. This filling consists of a vibrant mix of onions, bell peppers, beans, and corn. For those looking to add a protein boost, taco-seasoned beef is a perfect complement. The components are bound together with either a homemade enchilada sauce or salsa, which infuses the dish with rich, bold flavors. A generous topping of melted cheese completes the ensemble.
Before serving, the stuffed sweet potatoes are baked until the cheese is irresistibly gooey. They can be enjoyed as is or with various toppings such as cilantro, sour cream, additional cheese, salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole, or sliced avocado, allowing for a customizable eating experience that caters to individual tastes.
