Steady Growth: Pasco County's Property Values Continue Upward Trend

Pasco County's property values continue to rise, though at a slightly slower rate than last year. Dade City saw the highest increase at 20.4%, with property values climbing from $550.4 million to $662.7 million. San Antonio followed with a 19.3% increase. Overall, Pasco County's values rose by 12.8%, now totaling $53.68 billion. This growth is driven by ongoing development and new construction, contributing $2.96 billion in value county-wide.
County officials, including Property Appraiser Mike Wells and County Administrator Mike Carballa, noted that the increase supports essential services and infrastructure projects, despite inflationary challenges. Final property values, essential for budget preparations, will be delivered by July 1.
The county's continued growth highlights its appeal to homebuyers and businesses, with New Port Richey surpassing $1 billion in taxable value for the first time and Dade City set for another significant increase.

Does Your Business Have an Interesting Story to Tell?

Question: “How do I find volunteer opportunities?”
Discover the Joy of Volunteering in Your Community
Volunteering is a wonderful way to give back to your community, meet new people, and develop new skills. If you’re not sure where to start, don’t worry! Here are some tips to help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity.
Identify Your Interests: Think about what causes you care about. Do you love animals, enjoy working with kids, or have a passion for the environment? Your interests can guide your search.
Search Online: Use keywords like “volunteer opportunities near me,” “community service,” or “nonprofit organizations” to find local options. Websites like VolunteerMatch, Idealist, and local community boards are great resources.
Visit Local Organizations: Check out local nonprofits, community centers, libraries, and schools. Many organizations have volunteer programs and are always in need of extra hands.
Ask Around: Sometimes the best opportunities come through word of mouth. Ask friends, family, and colleagues if they know of any volunteer needs.
Attend Community Events: Local events, fairs, and markets often have booths or representatives from various organizations looking for volunteers.
Volunteering is not only beneficial for the community but also enriching for the volunteer.

Tampa Bay Lightning Boost City to
No. 8 Best Hockey Town in U.S.

Tampa has been ranked the eighth-best city for hockey fans in the U.S. by WalletHub. This recognition comes as NHL revenue is expected to hit a record $6.2 billion this season, with increased in-person attendance and TV ratings. WalletHub evaluated 76 cities based on 21 indicators such as ticket prices, stadium capacity, coaching quality, and team performance.
Tampa's high ranking is driven by the Tampa Bay Lightning's recent successes, including back-to-back Stanley Cups and three consecutive Stanley Cup Final appearances. The city also hosted the NCAA Frozen Four in 2023, receiving positive feedback.
Mike Lorenc from the University of Michigan highlighted local hockey culture, fan engagement, team performance, affordability, and quality facilities as key factors for top hockey cities. Tampa excels in these areas, offering reasonable ticket prices, competitive merchandise costs, and a passionate fan community, making it a premier destination for hockey fans.

Niall Horan Puts on an Excellent Show at the Mid-Florida Amphitheater

We had no idea who were going to see Friday night with our newly minted Live Nation Lawn Pass —- until we arrived and saw the sea of teenage girls who made up the majority of the audience, far different than the crowd who attended last year’s Alice Cooper concert!
We decided to stay to see who these ladies had come to see.
It was an amazing concert from start to finish, including the warm up act. Niall Horan, a 30 yr old singer/songwriter who had performed w/One Direction, was in credibly talented young man. He was more engaging with his audience than I’ve seen with much more seasoned performers. He had designed a group of performers who complemented his music, all of whom were talented and together filled the evening with very enjoyable sound.
Needless to say, we old folks were the first to leave, begrudgingly I have to say, as I surprisingly thoroughly enjoyed this evening - except for the high decible female screaming that was pretty much never ending!
