Surge in Threats Prompts Pasco Mother to Explore Virtual School

Just over a month into the school year, hundreds of threats have kept Tampa Bay law enforcement busy. In Pasco County alone, more than 100 school threat-related calls were made in the last two weeks, leading to five arrests.
Jeaneth Reinoso, a Pasco mother of two, is considering switching her kids to Florida Virtual School due to ongoing threats.
Pasco County Superintendent Kurt Browning urged parents to talk to their kids about the consequences of making threats, even as a joke. Reinoso added that the constant threats have raised her anxiety, as her kids text her in fear from school.
Explore Wildlife in Style: Cybertruck Safari at Dade City's Giraffe Ranch

At Giraffe Ranch, visitors can now embark on an African-style safari in an electric Cybertruck.
Originally a horse and cattle farm, the 47-acre ranch was transformed into a nature preserve by owner Lex Salisbury, a longtime animal conservationist.
Giraffe Ranch features not only giraffes but also other herd animals, roaming freely in natural habitats.
To minimize disruption, the quiet, zero-emission Cybertruck is used for the safari, allowing guests to ride along as Salisbury feeds the animals and inspects the grounds.
The unscripted two-hour tour provides an up-close look at the animals while offering a unique, eco-friendly adventure.

Flight Diverted After Passenger Finds Mouse in In-Flight Meal

A Scandinavian Airlines flight from Norway to Spain made an emergency landing in Copenhagen on Wednesday.
A mouse reportedly scurried out of a food box that a woman was opening, alarming passengers. The flight was diverted as part of standard airline safety procedures. Rodents are a serious risk on planes due to the possibility of them chewing through electrical wiring.
One passenger humorously suggested the mouse might have been preparing for a "Ratatouille" sequel audition.
One astonishing fact about animals on airplanes is that cargo flights inadvertently facilitate the global spread of invasive rodent species. Rodents like rats and mice can hide in cargo holds, baggage compartments, and aircraft structures. When planes land worldwide, these rodents establish in non-native regions, causing ecological disruptions by outcompeting native species, transmitting diseases, and damaging agriculture.
An example is the spread of the Black Rat (Rattus rattus), which has devastated seabird populations on various islands. Although airlines implement pest control measures, the amount of air traffic makes complete prevention challenging.
