“Take Flight or Take a Plunge!” – Mayor Jane Castor on Tampa’s Wildest Aviation Event

Tampa’s skies (and the Hillsborough River!) are set to fill with laughter and excitement as Red Bull Flugtag returns this Saturday, Nov. 9, for the first time since 2011.
Over 100,000 spectators are expected to gather near the Tampa Convention Center to witness fearless teams launch wild, human-powered flying machines from a 27-foot deck. This quirky aviation competition, named Flugtag (German for “flying day”), challenges inventors to craft fantastical airships powered by sheer human strength—and plenty of imagination.
Crowds can enjoy creative skits, comedic costumes, and epic “flights” (or splashes!) as participants aim to glide the farthest across the water. The event is free, with festivities starting at noon.

Wings, Beer, and Community Vibes: Hooters Brings the Fun to Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel is set to welcome its first Hooters restaurant next summer, right next to the Wesley Chapel Harley-Davidson dealership.
The 4,500-square-foot location, featuring an outdoor patio, will bring the famous wings, cold beer, and lively Hooters atmosphere to the area, marking the third Pasco County location after Port Richey and Odessa.
Known for its iconic “Hooters Girls” and bar fare, the restaurant has also built a legacy of giving back, raising millions for charities such as the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This addition is part of HMC Hospitality Group’s expansion, bringing a slice of Florida’s Hooters history—which started in Clearwater in 1983—into the heart of Wesley Chapel.

Kansas City Kid Rachaad White Lives NFL Dream with Touchdown Against Chiefs

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White made a memorable return to his hometown Monday night, scoring a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. Growing up in the Kansas City area, White had long dreamed of an NFL moment like this, and he delivered, putting the Bucs up 7-3 with a seven-yard run after a strong drive set up by a Sterling Shepard catch.
The Bucs have been leaning on their versatile “three-headed monster” backfield, and White’s performance adds even more potential to their rushing attack.
