Pasco Tax Collector Mike Fasano Hosts Holiday Events to Give Back

Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano is spreading holiday cheer with a series of events aimed at supporting the community during the festive season. Fasano’s office has organized at least four events to help residents celebrate while assisting those in need.

“Please join us as we celebrate the holidays by reaching out to those most in need,” Fasano said, urging residents to participate or contribute.

For those unable to attend in person, the office’s charitable website, Pasco TC Gives, Inc., accepts online donations. Contributions of any amount can help brighten the holidays for countless families.

The events are part of a longstanding tradition by Fasano’s office to support local programs and foster community spirit.

“Your support will make a meaningful difference,” Fasano said, encouraging Pasco residents to join in the giving season.

Tampa Bay Rays Cancel New Stadium Plans After Funding Delayed

The Tampa Bay Rays have canceled plans for a new stadium in St. Petersburg after Pinellas County and the City Council voted to delay funding. The $1.3 billion project, part of a larger $6.5 billion redevelopment plan, required $730 million from local taxpayers.

Following Hurricane Milton’s destruction of Tropicana Field’s roof, the team sought expedited funding but faced resistance. Rising costs and delays, including a postponed October vote, prompted the Rays to suspend plans. Critics argue the team’s letters to commissioners signaled unwillingness to cover budget overruns, influencing the vote.

Advocates like Ron Diner suggest relocating the team closer to Tampa and redirecting funds to improve infrastructure after a tough hurricane season.

For 2025, the Rays will play at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the MLB’s smallest stadium, as the team evaluates its future.

Florida Tree Trimmer Survives 100+ Bee Stings and 30-Foot Fall

A Florida tree trimmer survived a terrifying ordeal near Ocala after accidentally disturbing a hive of aggressive bees while working 30 feet above ground. Jon Christian, trapped in a bucket truck, was stung over 100 times, nearly half on his head.

As the swarm attacked, a malfunction left Christian stranded until coworkers urged him to jump. He fell 30 feet, hitting a roof before landing on the ground, still pursued by the bees. Despite his bee allergy, Christian survived thanks to swift action from his crew and medical treatment.

Experts suspect the attackers were "killer bees" due to their aggression. Christian, who left the hospital Friday with no broken bones, called his survival a miracle.

“I’m lucky to be alive,” he said, vowing to outfit his crew with bee suits for future jobs

Giants Fall Flat as Bucs Dominate 30-7

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers snapped a four-game skid, crushing the New York Giants 30-7 on Sunday. Baker Mayfield led with 294 passing yards and a thrilling 10-yard rushing touchdown, where he leaped over defenders to score. Tampa Bay built a commanding 30-0 halftime lead, fueled by rushing TDs from Sean Tucker, Bucky Irving, and Rachaad White.

Mike Evans returned from injury, contributing 68 receiving yards, while Irving added 87 rushing yards. Tampa Bay’s defense stifled the Giants, allowing only 45 first-half yards.

New Giants starter Tommy DeVito, replacing released Daniel Jones, struggled with 189 passing yards and four sacks. Devin Singletary scored New York’s lone touchdown late in the game.

Injuries:
The Bucs lost Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (ankle) and Jordan Whitehead (pectoral). Giants’ Jermaine Eluemunor (quad) and Azeez Ojulari (toe) exited early.
