Susan Solves It: Avoid Falling for Fake Rental Home Scams

As the holiday season approaches, scammers are targeting renters with fake rental home listings. They often use real photos and listing details from legitimate properties to make their scams appear authentic.
These fraudulent listings are designed to lure unsuspecting renters into paying deposits or booking fees for homes that aren’t actually available or even real. It’s a common tactic during peak travel seasons when people are urgently searching for holiday accommodations.
To protect yourself, verify the listing by contacting property managers directly or using trusted rental platforms. Be cautious of listings that ask for upfront payments through unusual methods like gift cards or wire transfers.
Stay vigilant, and always double-check rental details to avoid falling victim to these scams.

Bucs Shine in the Red Zone, Power Offense to New Heights

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are lighting up scoreboards through red-zone efficiency. Averaging 28.1 points per game, they’ve become one of the NFL’s highest-scoring teams despite lacking big-play highlights or top-yardage leaders.
Tampa Bay’s 69.8% touchdown rate in the red zone ranks second in the league, surpassing even their Super Bowl-winning 2020 season. Baker Mayfield has excelled, ranking among the NFL’s top red-zone passers, while new offensive coordinator Liam Coen has kept defenses guessing with creative formations. From five-receiver sets to unique personnel packages like using 350-pound Vita Vea as a fullback, the team thrives on unpredictability.
Even injuries to Chris Godwin and Mike Evans haven’t slowed them. Over the past four games, Tampa Bay has scored on 80% of its red-zone trips. By emphasizing grit, versatility, and teamwork, the Bucs have turned the red zone into a consistent strength.
USF Women’s Basketball Faces Mississippi State, TCU in the Cayman Islands

The USF women’s basketball team heads to the Cayman Islands Classic, blending a picturesque setting with a competitive challenge. The Bulls (4-3) will face two unbeaten teams: Mississippi State (6-0) on Friday and No. 17 TCU (6-0) on Saturday.
While the location offers scenic beaches and coral reefs, Head Coach Jose Fernandez views the trip as a balance between team bonding and focused preparation. “We’re here to get better,” Fernandez said, emphasizing that the games are key steps in building toward the American Athletic Conference season.
The Bulls have already faced tough opponents like UConn and Louisville, sharpening their skills for upcoming matchups against South Carolina and Duke. Led by key players such as Sammie Puisis (14.4 ppg.), Romi Levy, and Carla Brito, USF aims to test its mettle against elite competition, building consistency and cohesion in a high-stakes environment.
For USF, paradise means progress and victories.
