Massive Trinity Entertainment Complex Proposal Draws Criticism

Plans for an 800-acre sports and entertainment complex in Trinity have sparked community outrage.
Designed by Storyland Studios, the project promises indoor and outdoor stadiums, arenas, hotels, retail spaces, restaurants, and residential developments—spanning more than six times the size of Disney Springs.
Developers from the Trinity Development Initiative say the project will enhance local amenities, reduce traffic by creating private roads, and address flooding issues. However, no plans have been filed with Pasco County, and the project is still in its early stages.
Residents have voiced strong opposition, citing concerns about increased traffic, environmental damage, and the loss of Trinity’s community charm. A Change.org petition has gathered hundreds of signatures against the proposal. This debate mirrors ongoing tensions in Pasco County, where rapid development often clashes with efforts to preserve small-town identity. Developers pledge transparency and gradual implementation to ease concerns.
Tampa’s Hidden Gem: Florida’s Largest
Laser Tag Arena

Laser Ops Extreme Gaming Arcade in Town ‘N’ Country is home to Florida’s largest indoor laser tag arena, spanning an impressive 8,000 square feet. Owner Ted Mangano aimed to create a standout experience with hour-long laser tag sessions in a post-apocalyptic arena featuring black lights, music, and obstacles like a military Humvee and Statue of Liberty ruins.
But Laser Ops offers more than laser tag. The venue boasts 60+ arcade games, virtual reality attractions, a 3,000-square-foot Nerf Arena, and a full bar and grill. Virtual reality options include "Hyperdeck," an immersive four-person game with motion effects, and "Hologate," which lets players choose from eight VR games.
Catering to families, schools, and corporate events, Laser Ops features six rentable event rooms and STEM-focused activities for field trips. Mangano’s goal? To create a unique, family-friendly experience. “This isn’t your baby brother’s laser tag,” he says, “it’s tactical and immersive.”

Florida Favorite Acropolis Greek Taverna Adds
New Orlando Spot

Acropolis Greek Taverna, known for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine and vibrant atmosphere, continues its Florida expansion with a new location at 390 N. Orange Avenue in Orlando, which opened in late November 2024. The popular eatery, established nearly 20 years ago, serves fresh Greek fare alongside live entertainment, including music and dancing.
Already a favorite in Tampa, Riverview, and New Tampa, the restaurant has garnered accolades such as "Favorite Restaurant in New Tampa." Guests praise its welcoming ambiance, flavorful dishes, and attentive service. Riverview’s location boasts over 2,200 Google reviews, averaging 4.4 stars, with diners like Aditi commending its "genuine hospitality" and "authentic flavors."
The new Orlando spot has been equally well-received, with reviewer Laura giving it a perfect rating for its cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and standout dishes like the Corfu chicken. Further expansions, including more Orlando locations and Tallahassee, are reportedly in the works.

Virginia Man Killed by Falling Bear in
Hunting Tragedy

Lester C. Harvey Jr., a 58-year-old father of five from Phenix, Virginia, died after a bear fell from a tree during a hunting accident, according to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.
Officials say a group of hunters had chased the bear into the tree. When one hunter shot the animal, it fell and struck Harvey, who was standing about 10 feet from the base of the tree. Despite receiving first aid at the scene and being transported to a hospital, Harvey succumbed to his injuries.
A self-employed contractor and avid outdoorsman, Harvey was remembered in his obituary as “a friend to all who never met a stranger.” He is survived by his wife, three sons, two daughters, and eight grandchildren.
State wildlife officials stated they are not pursuing charges in connection with the incident, which they described as a tragic accident.
