Titus O’Neil’s Joy of Giving Event Brings Holiday Cheer to Over 5,000 Families

The 16th annual Joy of Giving Celebration, hosted by WWE legend Titus O’Neil and the Bullard Family Foundation, welcomed over 5,000 families at the Thaddeus M. Bullard Academy in Tampa.

Families from Sligh, Foster Elementary, and nearby schools received free gifts, food, and holiday cheer, with nearly 19,000 presents distributed by Santa and his elves. The event began with a Gasparilla-style parade led by Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister and featured dance-offs where winners received TVs and Beats headphones.

O’Neil highlighted the importance of giving back, reflecting on how support during his youth shaped his commitment to helping others. Volunteers, many of whom had once benefited from the foundation, expressed gratitude for being able to give back. The event’s success was supported by sponsors like Fran Haasch Law Group, Love, Tito’s, and Amazon, ensuring a festive and meaningful day for families in need.

Brooksville’s New Motorsports Park Combats Illegal Street Racing with Thrills and Safety

Lead Foot City, a motorsport theme park in Brooksville, has officially opened, offering a safe alternative to illegal street racing. Founded by Achilles Thomas after five years of planning, the 80-acre venue includes a 1/8-mile drag strip, burnout pit, drifting center, and autocross area. Designed to cater to families as well, it features a speakeasy, bar and grill, and a convention center.

Partnering with the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), the park prioritizes safety with on-site EMTs, safety personnel, and concrete barriers along the tracks. The grand opening weekend attracted thousands of visitors, with racers like Les Benson reliving their passion for motorsports in a secure environment.

Lead Foot City aims to build a strong racing community while addressing the dangers of street racing. The park will continue to host exciting events, creating a thrilling and safe space for motorsport enthusiasts.

IRS Targets Unclaimed COVID Relief with $1,400 Payments to Eligible Taxpayers

The IRS is preparing to issue special payments of up to $1,400 to around one million taxpayers, totaling approximately $2.4 billion. These payments address missed Recovery Rebate Credit claims from 2021 tax filings, primarily affecting individuals who either left the rebate section blank or incorrectly entered $0 on their returns.

IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel emphasized that the payments will be issued automatically, requiring no additional action from taxpayers. Distribution will align with details provided in taxpayers' 2023 returns, either via direct deposit or mailed checks, with most payments expected by late January 2025.

Taxpayers who have not yet filed their 2021 returns still have until April 15, 2025, to claim this credit. This initiative serves as a final effort by the IRS to ensure all eligible individuals receive their rightful COVID-19 relief payments amidst the financial disruptions caused by the pandemic.

Tiger Woods’ Son Charlie Delivers Magical Hole-in-One Moment in Orlando

Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods, achieved his first-ever hole-in-one during the PNC Championship at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando. Using a 7-iron on the 175-yard par-3 fourth hole, Charlie watched in disbelief as his ball landed six feet left of the pin and rolled into the cup.

The crowd erupted in cheers as Tiger shared a celebratory hug with his son before joking about the golfing tradition that requires the ace-maker to “buy drinks for everyone.” Charlie’s humorous response was, "I'm broke."

The ace temporarily placed Team Woods in a share of the lead, marking a memorable highlight in the father-son tournament.

Adding to the excitement, Paddy Harrington, son of Padraig Harrington, also scored a hole-in-one on the eighth hole shortly after, fueling another celebration. The PNC Championship’s final round is set to wrap up later on Sunday.
