Holiday shopping is in full swing, but for many, the real challenge begins after the purchases: wrapping the gifts. Scripps News Detroit set up a gift-wrapping challenge in downtown Birmingham, Michigan, inviting locals to show off their skills.

Some participants, like Lexi Dorfman, admitted wrapping wasn’t their strong suit, preferring gift bags instead. Others, like Lynn Stenback, emphasized their love for crisp corners and tidy folds. Julia Walker confidently took on the challenge, showcasing her wrapping expertise. The Gunterman family approached the task as a team, sharing laughter and teamwork while tackling tricky wired bows.

The wraps were later judged by Abby Treat from the Paper Source, who declared Julia Walker’s creation the winner.

While wrapping styles varied from meticulous to playful, the challenge proved one thing: whether perfect or imperfect, the joy of giving shines brightest when it’s wrapped with care.

7-Year-Old Undergoes Heart Surgery After Orlando Holiday Drone Show Crash

A 7-year-old boy named Alexander is recovering after undergoing open-heart surgery following a drone crash during a holiday light show at Lake Eola Park in Orlando.

During the performance, red and green-lit drones collided mid-air and fell into the crowd. One of the drones struck Alexander, knocking him unconscious and causing a severe chest injury.

His parents, Adriana Edgerton and Jessica Lumsden, confirmed that he was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery the following day. The City of Orlando immediately canceled the second scheduled show, citing technical difficulties.

The FAA has launched an investigation into the incident, with experts suggesting possible causes such as GPS interference, programming errors, or drone collisions. City officials are working with the drone show vendor to determine what went wrong.
