Meet a T. rex! Jurassic Quest Roars into Tampa This Summer

Tampa’s Florida State Fair Expo Hall is set to transform into a prehistoric playground as Jurassic Quest roars into town from July 18-20, 2025. The event, known as the largest dinosaur experience in the world, features life-size animatronic dinosaurs, hands-on fossil digs, raptor training, and interactive activities for all ages.
Visitors can get up close with Tyrannosaurus rex, Spinosaurus, Apatosaurus, and even adorable baby dinosaurs. Kids can enjoy the Dino-Mite Experience with exclusive attractions, while general admission offers access to most exhibits. Tickets are required for guests aged 2 and older, with prices varying based on demand.
Jurassic Quest tickets are selling fast, so families are encouraged to reserve their spots before they go extinct! Arrival times must be selected, but guests can stay as long as they like. No refunds unless Ticket Protector is purchased.

No Comments: Pasco School Board Stands Firm on Social Media Restrictions

The Pasco County School Board is reviewing its social media policy after criticism that the district violates its own rules by not allowing public comments on its posts. Some residents argue this limits their First Amendment rights, but district officials maintain they lack the resources to moderate discussions effectively.
Instead of reopening comments, the administration is proposing changing the policy to clarify that social media is primarily for one-way communication. Assistant Superintendent Kevin Shibley emphasized that the district is not silencing the public but choosing not to host discussions on its platforms. Critics, however, argue this approach excludes community input.
While the board agreed to review the policy, most members favor keeping comments closed, citing legal risks and challenges in monitoring content. The matter will be discussed in a workshop on Tuesday, with no final decision yet made.

Tampa General Hospital Opens Veterans-Only Primary Care Clinic

Tampa General Hospital (TGH) has launched a new primary care clinic exclusively for veterans in Hillsborough County. The Military & Veteran Primary Care Center (MVP Center), located at 2106 South Lois Avenue, aims to provide specialized healthcare tailored to the unique needs of former service members.
The clinic, part of TGH’s commitment to supporting veterans, offers medical care with a focus on military-related health concerns, including PTSD and behavioral health services. Staff members receive specialized training through a partnership with Home Base, a veteran-focused advocacy organization.
"The effects of military service often lead to lifelong health challenges," said Adam Smith, TGH’s chief ambulatory officer. "We are dedicated to supporting veterans' health and wellness."
The MVP Center is now accepting patients, with services being phased in gradually. Veterans interested in care can call 813-844-4200 to schedule an appointment.
This initiative strengthens TGH’s dedication to providing essential healthcare for those who have bravely served.

Wesley Chapel Falls to Bishop Verot, Extends
Losing Streak

The Wesley Chapel Wildcats struggled on Saturday, falling 10-2 to the Bishop Verot Vikings in a tough road matchup. Despite a strong season-average of 3.63 runs allowed per game, the Wildcats’ pitching couldn’t contain Bishop Verot’s offense, marking their third straight loss.
Wesley Chapel saw contributions from multiple players, with Mills Carrillo going 1-for-2 and scoring a run. The Wildcats showed discipline at the plate, striking out only once—far better than Bishop Verot, who struck out six times.
With this loss, Wesley Chapel drops to 4-4, while Bishop Verot remains undefeated at 8-0, extending their 17-game home winning streak.
Up next, Wesley Chapel faces Wiregrass Ranch on Monday at 7:00 p.m., a team known for close games. Meanwhile, Bishop Verot takes on Southwest Florida Christian in a tournament matchup on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
