Yuengling to Launch Exclusive ‘Winner Beer’ at Tampa Draft Haus

Yuengling Draft Haus & Kitchen in Tampa is set to release its latest Eagle Series brew, Winner Beer, on March 13 at 4:00 PM. This exclusive Strawberry Blonde Ale is only available at the Tampa location and Yuengling’s original brewery in Pottsville, PA.

The First Pour Event will feature live music, great food, and a chance to try this limited-edition beer. With only 8 kegs available, supplies won’t last long. The first 75 registered attendees will receive early access perks, including a free sample, 20% off a growler fill or purchase, and special Yuengling swag.

Registration is only required for early access, but anyone can attend the Eagle Series event during regular hours. Beer lovers won’t want to miss this rare opportunity to be among the first to taste Winner Beer.

Here’s an astonishing beer fact that many people don’t know: In 1814, a massive beer flood swept through the streets of London!

Known as the London Beer Flood, this bizarre disaster occurred on October 17, 1814, when a giant vat at the Meux and Company Brewery burst, releasing over 320,000 gallons (1.4 million liters) of beer. The force of the flood destroyed buildings, flooded streets, and tragically killed eight people. Some reports suggest that locals ran into the streets to scoop up beer in whatever containers they could find!

It’s a wild piece of history that proves beer can be unexpectedly dangerous. 🍺

Woman Sitting in Roadway Struck, Killed by SUV in Polk County

EDITOR’s NOTE: I feel for the driver who would never expect to face a situation like this on a dark two-lane highway.

A 45-year-old woman was fatally struck by an SUV early Saturday morning in Auburndale, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies had received multiple calls about a woman sitting in the middle of U.S. Highway 92 near Payne Street. Around 6 a.m., she reportedly stood up and began walking when a 71-year-old driver in an SUV hit her.

The driver told authorities he did not see the woman until she was directly in front of his vehicle. Deputies say they do not believe speed or impairment played a role in the crash.

The woman died at the scene, and the PCSO Traffic Unit is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the incident. No charges have been filed at this time.

Former Cena Chef Opens Martin’s Italian, Bringing His Signature Cooking to Oldsmar

(a dish at an italian restaurant)

After the closure of Cena last fall, Tampa chef Michael Buttacavoli is making a comeback with a new Italian restaurant, Martin’s Italian, opening this week in Oldsmar. The restaurant, located at 3689 Tampa Road, replaces the former Salt Rock Tavern and is owned by Rory Martin, who also operates Strandhill Public.

Although Buttacavoli is not an owner, he is leading the kitchen with a menu that is reminiscent of Cena but more casual and approachable. Guests can expect handmade pastas like cacio e pepe and carbonara, risottos, branzino, and an Italian-inspired cocktail menu.

Martin’s Italian is significantly larger than Cena, with 240 seats, indoor and outdoor bars, and a private dining room. The restaurant is currently in soft opening mode, with regular hours beginning next week. Buttacavoli says he is excited to be back and hopes to create a welcoming, neighborhood-friendly dining experience.

Rays’ Future Star? Caminero’s Explosive Power Shines in Two-Homer Game

Junior Caminero showcased his elite power in the Rays’ 5-5 tie against the Twins, crushing two home runs off Twins starter Chris Paddack. The 21-year-old slugger blasted a two-run shot to center field in the first inning, then followed with another deep homer to right in the third. His first home run left the bat at 109.3 mph, while his second came in at 101.5 mph, demonstrating his impressive bat speed.

Caminero has carried his momentum from the Dominican winter league into Spring Training, setting a goal of hitting 30 home runs this season. His ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields makes him a serious offensive threat for the Rays. Manager Kevin Cash and teammate Shane Baz both praised his impact, with Baz noting, “He just hits the [crap] out of the ball.” If Sunday’s game was any indication, Caminero is primed for a breakout season.
