Dog Rescued from 120°F Car While Owner
Hit the Beach

A Texas man was arrested in Walton County, Florida, after allegedly leaving his small dog in a hot car while he went to the beach. According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a Yorkie locked in a vehicle for nearly an hour. The car was not running and had only slightly cracked windows.
Using a lock-out kit, deputies rescued the dog, gave it water, and measured the interior temperature at a dangerous 120°F. They contacted the owner through the collar tag, and Andy Matute Villatoro, 26, of Houston, Texas, returned shortly after and was arrested for animal cruelty.
Authorities stressed that leaving pets in hot vehicles is not only dangerous but also illegal, noting how quickly temperatures can become deadly even on mild days. The dog was turned over to Walton County Animal Services for care.
Pinellas County Woman Scores $1 Million Scratch-Off Prize at Publix

A quick grocery trip turned into a life-changing moment for one Pinellas County woman. Jennifer HercherAllen, 55, struck it rich after purchasing a winning scratch-off ticket at the Publix in Tarpon Springs.
The Florida Lottery announced Monday that HercherAllen won $1 million from the $5 CASH WHEEL Scratch-Off game. Opting for a lump-sum payout, she walked away with $605,016 before taxes.
The lucky ticket was bought at the Publix located at 40932 US Hwy 19 North, which will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning stub.
CASH WHEEL offers enticing odds, with a 1-in-4 chance of winning any prize. For HercherAllen, those odds turned into a seven-figure windfall—proof that a little luck can strike anywhere, even in the checkout line.
Here's an astonishing but lesser-known fact about lottery scratch-off games:
Most scratch-off tickets are designed so that over 70% of the money collected from sales goes back into prizes—but retailers and distributors can often determine which batches are "luckier" by monitoring prize redemptions.
This phenomenon, called "clustering", occurs because tickets are printed and distributed in batches, each with a pre-set number of winners. Retailers or savvy players who track redemption data (especially in states where this info is public) may find that some packs or rolls have already yielded their top prize—making the remaining tickets in that batch virtually worthless.
So, if you’re buying randomly, you might be playing a game where the top prize is already gone—and never know it.
Takeaway: If your state lottery publishes prize redemption data, checking it before you buy could improve your odds!

Rethinking Osteoporosis: Gut Health, Not Just Calcium, Is Key

For years, treating osteoporosis meant calcium supplements and routine DEXA scans. But Functional Bone Health Expert Debi Robinson says it’s time for a shift. On Bloom with Gayle Guyardo, she revealed a holistic approach to bone strength that focuses on underlying issues like chronic inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and poor nutrient absorption.
Central to Robinson’s philosophy is the gut-bone connection. “If your gut is unhealthy, your bones can’t absorb the nutrients they need—even if you’re taking them,” she explains. This means gut healing is foundational in any bone-building strategy.
Beyond density, Robinson stresses the importance of bone quality and flexibility—achieved through weight-bearing movement like yoga, an anti-inflammatory diet, and stress reduction.
She also highlights REMS, a radiation-free alternative to DEXA scans that tracks both density and bone quality more safely and frequently.
The takeaway: Stronger bones don’t always require prescriptions. A functional, personalized path can offer lasting resilience—naturally.

Tampa Bay’s Taylor Walls Ejected for Helmet Tap in Ninth Inning
Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Taylor Walls was ejected during the ninth inning of Sunday’s game against the Houston Astros after tapping his helmet at bat — a gesture now considered disrespectful under new MLB rules. The incident occurred at Daikin Park on June 1, with umpire Nic Lentz ejecting Walls on the spot.
Walls, visibly outraged, had to be restrained by teammates and bench coach Rodney Linares. The controversial rule stems from a spring training challenge system, where players tapped helmets to review plays. Though no longer in effect, players were warned that helmet taps during regular season games would be penalized.
Walls later stated he had no memory of tapping his helmet, assuming he was just adjusting it. After watching a replay, he admitted it may have appeared intentional but insisted it wasn’t. He called the ejection “premature” and criticized the umpire’s assumption of disrespect.
