Brooksville’s Book Haven Welcomes Fiction Lovers

Nestled on Brooksville’s leafy Main Street, Citrus & Sage Bookshop offers a whimsical escape for lovers of romance and fantasy fiction.
Founded by Andrea Reid, the charming shop reflects her deep affection for the town and her lifelong love of books. “I’ve always wanted to create a place where you can escape reality,” she said, “and not be judged by what you’re reading.”
Open seven days a week, Citrus & Sage isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a cozy community space, complete with architectural flourishes and an inviting, curated atmosphere.
The store features bestselling novels, themed sections, and hosts regular author signings and book club meetings, making it an ideal gathering place for local readers.
For fantasy fans, romantics, or those simply seeking a quiet, magical corner, Citrus & Sage has quickly become Brooksville’s new literary heart.

Young Florida Panther Killed by Vehicle in Pasco County, a First-Ever Incident

A young male Florida panther was fatally struck by a vehicle on I-75 in Wesley Chapel, marking the first recorded panther death in Pasco County, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
The panther, estimated to be 2 to 3 years old, was found well outside its traditional range. Most Florida panthers live in the southwest, below Lake Okeechobee. Pasco County lies beyond this territory, though young male panthers have been known to roam great distances.
This tragic death is the 10th panther fatality reported in 2025, with seven of those involving young males—a group more likely to travel and be hit by vehicles while searching for territory.
As the panther population has rebounded since 1995, so too have road-related deaths. Vehicle collisions remain a major threat to this endangered apex predator
Tragedy on I-95: Man Dies Attempting to Rescue Turtle in Florida

A man lost his life on Interstate 95 in Indian River County Sunday afternoon while trying to save a turtle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man attempted to cross the southbound lanes near Sebastian Boulevard around 4:20 p.m., prompting a Mazda CX-9 to slow down to avoid hitting him. Tragically, a Dodge 3500 pickup traveling behind the Mazda failed to stop in time, rear-ending it and pushing the vehicle off the roadway and into a fence.
The man was struck by the Dodge and died at the scene.
Authorities have not released the man’s identity, the turtle’s condition, or the status of the drivers involved.
The heartbreaking incident underscores the dangers of pedestrian movement on highways, even in moments of compassion.
No charges have been announced as the investigation continues.

Technology-Fueled Shift: PAs Transition to MDs Faster Than Ever

A new wave of Physician Assistants (PAs) is accelerating their path to becoming Medical Doctors (MDs), thanks to cutting-edge educational technology and flexible bridge programs.
With growing global physician shortages and the rising prominence of PAs in patient care, institutions like AUAmed are offering tech-integrated programs tailored to experienced professionals. These bridge pathways combine virtual anatomy labs, AI-powered tutoring, and case-based e-learning to accommodate working schedules without sacrificing rigor.
PAs often arrive with thousands of clinical hours, but still need deeper diagnostic training and decision-making authority to meet MD standards. Bridge programs recognize existing competencies while filling in educational gaps—creating smarter, faster transitions.
The global impact is significant, particularly in underserved regions where versatile practitioners are urgently needed. With advancements like adaptive AI learning and VR surgical training on the horizon, the PA-to-MD journey is becoming more efficient—and essential—for the future of healthcare.
